Default RE: Formula Fastech Brushless

Personally, electronics wise, I didn't have any problems with the blackjack. I got rid of it because it was kind of boring though, and just wasn't a good boat (not because of electronics though). However, what is suspect about ProBoat is their hardware. I've never seen any proboat hardware that doesn't suck. The steerable outdrive they use on some of their boats is AWFUL, and, while I haven't seen it in person, or had any experience with it, the hardware on the Formula Fastec just looks CHEAP.

My vote is with Cadillac. Buy a supervee. You may flip, but its part of the hobby. Fast boats just flip sometimes. Down at the Texas Super Race (my first big race) earlier this year, I couldn't believe how many boats would flip or suck water and stall, or crash! It really is just part of the hobby. But, you can learn how to avoid it too.

A buddy of mine and I race our 27's pretty regularly, and have gotten pretty good about avoiding flips. On the 27, it is all about the nose - as soon as it starts pitching up and down in an abnormal manner (i.e. not just your regular wave-to-wave bouncing) let off the throttle. 8 times out of 10, that will save us from an annoying flip. In my semi-limited experience, the supervee really is the best bang for your buck, and an overall great boat. Give it a shot.
