RE: G20 with which plane?
The G-20 is an amazing little motor. A couple of years ago, I built a Phaeton 90 and fitted it with a whacker conversion. It was fun and provided adequate realistic power for the low wing loading of this plane. Recently the magneto ignition cratered and faced with putting electronic on a motor that suffered for power, the plane was fitted with my 2nd G-20.
Because I'd cut the fire wall short for the heavy whacker conversion, 12 oz of weight were needed with the G20 and the Phaeton is covered with fabric. The 11-12 lb plane weighs 13.25 lbs yet flies pretty well with the G20. Karol is right however, the unlimited vertical limit is right at 10 lbs for the G20.
My simple point is that the G20 will fly some heavier planes considering what the flight goals are. The G20 is an excellent match for the Phaeton 90 and provides power for very large loops and outside maneuvers even on my too heavy Phaeton.
