Default RE: Great Planes kill switch

ORIGINAL: fly guy eddy

Hey Gadix, thank you for the info. I'm putting together the great planes giant super sportster with a spektrum DX 7 radio. I have two more questions to ask. I figured out where to install the ground wire but for the red wire, would it go on top of the ATM of the Fuji BT-34B? My second question is should I even hook up the servo kill switch? I have a fail safe that I can program in the DX 7 and I keep a constant check on my battery voltage. Once again, thank you the info.

Yes, there is a 'prong' that comes out of the ATM. Connect the red wire there. Remember, when the switch is 'open' the engine is live. When the switch is 'closed' the charge the magneto creates is grounded - hence no spark. I didn't install a servo activated kill switch. I just use the throttle cut function to kill it, unfortunately, the DX7 doesn't have a dedicated cut button.
