Much depends upon your experience level in flying!

The Cap 232 is going to be the more advanced model and not for a beginner going from 2 channel flying to possibly 3 or 4 channel.

The Cessna 172 is going to be the more docile airplane between the two choices you have presented more trainer like in comparison.

It would be my suggestion to investigate as many trainer airplanes as possible before making any decision.
