ORIGINAL: Xairflyer

Cant seem to get the clutch to lineup properly, tends now not to release and at about 25,000, the ecu senses the motor is still engaged and shuts it down. Have moved it in and out with no luck.
Xairflyer,

Try unscrewing the cap that holds the starter motor. That is how you adjust the clearance. Also, don't use the ECU to set-up the starter clutch. Quickly plug and unplug your battery directly to the starter motor. That way you can try small adjustments to set it up. It took me about 10 minutes and 7 or 8 tries to get the clearance right. There is a bit of slop in the JetJoe starter bendix. I found this aided and compenstated for misalignments etc.
