Strange Spectrum problem
i have something that just happened to me and i thought i would get on here and see if there was anything i might have for got or maby even over looked
1st a little history i have been changing all of my radios over to the spectrum system i the AR-6200 and AR-7000's i bought 4 receivers a few months back and i replace them as needed ( depends on what heli i want to fly ) i have replaced all receivers as of today the last receiver was a AR-7000 that i placed in my JR Ergo Z-230 Gasser now here is where things seem to be going wrong....
1 i removed the old receiver and installed the new AR-7000 then i bind ed both the receiver and transmitter everything looked fine as all lights were on i then i made sure the servos were going in the right direction ... no problems at this time was observed..
2 now after a full 18 hour charge and a quick check of the battery with a volt meter it is over 6 volt almost 7 volt which is what i would expect i could not check the mah but it should be at the 4500 range or more ... the helicopter is still on the bench and not flying as of yet ..
3 i am now ready for a test flight so i take the helicopter in the back yard ( this is where i fly all of them for the first time that way i don't have to take every tool i have to the field ) i place gas in the heli. i then turn on the radio transmitter then the receiver just as if it had the 72mkz radio in it . At this point i see the saddle light receiver blinking so i though that to be strange as i have never seen this before after it is energized. it then stops so i continue on to the next step .
4 i pull the starter to crank the Gasser and just when it fires the lights on the receiver go OFF as if i turned the power off ?? i turn off the heli and then i turned of the receiver and transmitter then re-energize them and everything is working once more i then decided that i need to do a recheck of the system so its back to the bench i pulled the receiver and checked all the wires i checked the servos and there wires i then placed the receiver back in and i did a rebind just to make sure everything was good to go.
5 back to the yard once again i filled the heli and did all the checks even a range check every thing is a GO .... i pulled the rope and the heli was running it was slow so i gave it a little more gas with the trim and it was now as smooth as can be.... THEN all at once it started to pick up RPM's to about 1/2 throttle and the lights in the receiver were out ?? so i had to shut off the helicopter with the run stop switch . i turned off the receiver and back on and it re-energized so now i have changed the battery out and it still does the same thing the only thing is THE GYRO ALWAYS STAYS ENERGIZED. so i can assume the switch for the receiver is ok ? .....
again i have checked every wire and every connection i have also replaced the battery and i have re- bind ed the receiver 4 times i think my problem is the receiver and i sent a email to spectrum i know its a Holiday and it will be tomorrow before i get a response from them but i thought i would ask and see if i might have missed or over looked something ?
