Default RE: Evolution 1.00NX Flight Test Report + Hints and Tips

After reading some other posts I wondered if the Evolution 1.00 was the best choice for my model. I was happily surprised.

I made the maiden flight on the Ultimate Bipe today. It flies very realistic. Wow!!

The model is an ARF manufactured by Seagull Models. It is sold as a 0.90 to 1.20 size. It weighed in at 9.75 pounds and is powered with an Evolution 1.00 2 cycle engine.

The engine runs great but it needed about 3 tanks of fuel to break it in. I used a Master Airscrew 13 x 8 initially and am now flying with a 14 x 8. The power and sound is realistic, near 4-cycle quality. I was running 15% Omega fuel and it was running about 9,400 rpms (3600 feet above sea level).

The bottom line is the engine does require some break in and some tuning to get it to run in top form. Once you set the mixture it runs quite well.

I am happy with my Evolution 1.00 purchase.
