mine has its own power. the receiver is the only thing that needs power and i have a 4.8 volt 4500mah battery for that i pulled a receiver from another helicopter and it works great i had a strange i guess you could call it a glich the radio wouldnt work for a few seconds i have since found that the servo wires where to close to the coil so i have it back on the bench and i will move all the wires later tonite and test it tomorrow but i did send the other receiver in to be checked just in case it has a problem.
