what are the pros and cons of using steel spur gear rather than a plastic one. i have a tmaxx 3.3
I can only think of disadvantage(s); and that would be that the spur is normally the "weak link" so to speak; which basically means that when u come off a jump and the chassis of the truck, and/or other parts on the truck absorb the impact; well the spur and slipper are made to be a weak link which is suppose to absorb the impacting energy off that jump; however when u use a steel spur; instead of absorbing the impacting energy, it will be transferred to next weak link which usually ends up being the trans gear(s)....Thats why personally if it were me, I would stay away from a steel spur....
