hypersprint is quite right. The indicator leds on wall chargers only indicate current flow and do not shut off, these chargers charge all the time they are plugged in and are not peak detecting.

If the lamp is not on in the morning something broke the circuit and your actual charge will be unknown. Frequently the plugs can be wiggled causing an open circuit or using the wrong size charge plug (using a different brand wall charger).
