Default RE: Strange Spectrum problem

Update to the strange problem ... after i sent my receiver in thinking it was bad i then i took a receiver out of a helicopter that was flying and it did the same thing as the new one so now the search was realy on to find just what the heck is going on so here is what i did ...

After checking every connection and moving every servo wire to a new location when i would pull the rope on the starter the lights on the receiver would blink once the Z-230 started the lights would go out if the receiver was mounted so i took it out and let it hang to the side by doing so it would stay on ? but if i got it close to the front of the heli where it is suposed to sit it would shut off and i would have to kill the motor i then checked every screw that was on the helicopter to make sure it was tight thinking that some form of RF was taking out the receiver i could not find any thing loose so as i sat the heli on the table i began to think what would cause a electric falt or some RF of sorts i then began to look at the coil since i have been a mechanic for 35 years and i have seen some strange things but it wasnt leaking when running so i then thought some more and i then relised that the spark plug was the only place left i then removed it to find that it was not a restore plug i went to the local parts place ( NAPA ) and bought a new one to replace the the old plug after a few minuets i was pulling the rope and the helicopter was running and the lights on the receiver stayed on i then moved the receiver in place while it was running and everything was golden as i placed it back to where it should be i then tested it for a close hover and no glitches i then let it idle and did a range test and everything tested fine and no more problems .... its kinda strange as the old receiver 72mkz didnt mind a non resistor plug but the spectrum did so if you have runaway check your plug.
