RE: Concept Fleet Bipe
I'm building one of these as well. I've also had my share of problems and I'm not a beginning builder.
I did make all new pywood wing joiners to fill out the spar boxes better. The wing construction is what gave me fits. The construction calls for making up hollow spars, adding the rib centers to the front and rear spars, then adding the rear and front rib sections. The fronts are added in a kind of "up in the air" fashion. I built one panel this way and found I ended up with a wavy leading edge. I built the balance of the panels on the building board with positive location for the front edges and rear edges of the ribs. I have to remove the rib fronts from the first panel and rebuild that panel.
I should have known better to think I could end up with a straight wing by building it in the air. The fuse has gone fine, and overall I am pleased with the plane. Mine will have a G38.
Bob, if you are going to recover you will see what the builder did with the spars. There are some threads here which recommend wrapping with kevlar. I wrapped the wing spars and spar center sections with layers of kevlar and carbon tow. I guess the spar boxes can split open otherwise. My rigging will be functional; I think it has to be to be safe. Others have re-engineered the wings with tube joiners.
I don't remember if the plans/instructions show control throws. I'll look as well when I get home.
