About the center of gravity, what issues did you have with the CG set to the plans specs? I just put a Spit Fire together to practice before taking the Mustang up for th first time. She kept nosing over on take-off !!???? Nose heavy, maybe? I had to keep full up elevator to get it airborne ( I know I should not have even tried to get her airborne, but I did ). When I finally got it in the air, it was uncontrollable. Landed it in the weeds to soften the blow. She survived with a couple of nicks, but now I'm scared to death to take the Mustang out.
However, I plan to do a maiden flight this friday, if the weather cooperates. It will be video taped, but I must say, if it goes as poorly as the spit fire, I'm not too sure I can handle posting it here.
