Default Buddy boxing a Spektrum

Hi all,

Well I got a good buy on a DX6i and my wife was ok with me spending the $$ so I bought it.

I figured I'd sell the old JR 6102 my friend sent me for a buddy box and split the cash with him, or send it back to him; his choice.

Fortunately, I read up on and tested the trainer function before selling the 6102. The Spektrum manual says that you have to use another Spektrum radio, or more specifically that the radio you slave to the Spektrum DX6i must be programmed the same.

Knowing that it has been said here any JR should buddy with the spektrum I decided to try it with my Quatro anyhow. It didnt work, and no where in the manual did I find any method to program it to work.

So, feeling a might bit dissapointed I set the Quatro aside and thought for a minute. The 6102 uses very simular programming to the Spektrum, so I wondered if it would work.
I plugged it in, and even before reporgramming it to be compatible model wise, it worked flawlessly. Apparently, to buddy box with a Spektrum radio, (at least the DX6i anyhow) you must use another computer radio.

I know this subject has come up a few times and I dont recall any solution being posted so I thought I would toss in my experiences for your reading pleasure. I hope this helps someone, and if there is someone who knows how to get around the computer radio issue and make a DX6i work with a basic 4 channel radio let me know.

Cheers
