Default RE: piper cub pictures

ORIGINAL: furn1593

got it on e-bay item # 140238428677, floats are carl goldberg.
wouldnt recommend it, instructions are bad, flys (or should I say flew) worse, wing too big i think. Looked cool taxiing around the lake. One 2 second flight, tip stall, and one and final 5 second flight on floats, land plane it was ok maybe 10 flights. Dont know if it was because something got wet or a aft cg that was the ultimate demise. Last flight went like this... Decent head wind (maybe 10mph) and a slight chop, held it on the water longer that the first flight and takeoff sucessful, started to head for the heavens with no contol input, down stick and reduction in power dropped the nose so fast, with little altitude and full elevelator deflection is was screaming down and starting to round out when it pancaked in the water tearing the whole undercarage out of the plane, and prop hit the floats(repariable). Long story short, looking for a new floatplane for a os 52fs - any recommendations - maybe a trainer this time.

Kind of a drastic way to dry out a water soaked fuse, isn't it?
