yeh i think the 7700 would be too much for the TT really try the 5700 setup,ive seen people running the vxl setup in TTs and they run fine.
As for gearing it depends on what heat the esc/motor start to hit id start at standard gearing and work up,fitting a good fan will help take some of the heat out too.
