RE: Nitro shortage, is ot true?
Don't know about MOTORMAN etal but I fly 30% and still do. Including in my Saitos.
My price for fuel has increased by $1.00/gal. this year vs. last. And that is as of this minute!
Better to peddle the gloom to someone who isn't buying model fuel right now. The only thing affecting my fuel costs is the $4.00+ gasoline as that comes out to more per round trip to the field than does the 30% nitro I burn in a day!
Even 180 Saitos can sip fuel if tuned properly. Now, the Dingos, that is a different question.[X(]
The YS110S and 140 Sports are still easily managed _____ can you make them drink fuel in large gulps? Yep.
Do you have to in order to get the power out?
Nope.
Yes, more fuel means a BIGGER bang ______ BUT only if used properly. If you are way too rich and pumping it out the exhaust you've gained nothing.
As I see it, if it stays short, beyond this summer we will simply have a lot of CDI conversions for glow. The latest Dingos are already there-still using high nitro, but with more power and better fuel control.
Shoot, we could even drop back in displacement and have the same performance as the larger glows do now, better in fact. I fly A123 so I have only the electronic package as added weight.
The YS contingent is NOT short of power and spend a great deal of each sequence at roughly half power, not WOT ____ save for verticals and strong winds.
Simply another view with a few facts inserted.
