Thought I'd throw this in re 1/4-20 bolts. After a couple of hard landings tthat took the bottom out of the fuse because the bolts didn't break I now cut my landing gear bolts about 1/3 the way through just under the head of the bolt. Still strong enough under normal conditions but sheer off very nicely when you have one of those OOPS! type landings. FWIW
