This thread should be about the steel diff and input gears only, but... oh well.
I haven't forgotten about this thread. I'm actually taking my rc18 apart right now to look at the gears. I've been driving it non-stop for 3 weeks with no crunching clicking noises. I bought two sets of gears, so my dad and I could both use them for our rear diffs. We both used the steel input gear with a plastic diff gear. It sounds nice and smooth.
I wasn't going to take mine apart now, but I broke a ball stud, so now would be a good time to clean it up and check it out. Now I need to order ball studs and a hub. It's all good. I can drive my mini-t.
Edit: jaejw1- I assumed that you were talking about the outdrives, but now I think you are talking about the gears, sorry. Also, it wasn’t directed at you only.
I haven’t noticed any difference in the car’s jumping, but I only used the input gear. I don’t think it would have a noticeable difference.
