Electric surely is taking a bite out of the fuel-powered models but if I had to discontinue using my noisy, messy, 2 strokes then that would surely be the end of my modeling career.
I think this point sums up the situation for many of us. I got into modelling for the engines - the flying and aerobatic part was a fantastic bonus. Electrics are the biggest threat to our current selection of two stroke and four stroke engines. It's great to have so many model engines to choose from and to be able to select the right engine for the right job but electrics could change that - look at the MVVS story. I'd pack it in too if I had to go exclusively electrics.

I'm a "horses for courses" guy myself.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Me too! I love 'em both, for different reasons. I get goose bumps when I hear my Jett .90L at full noise doing a 120 mph pass just off the deck - love that doppler effect! I chuckle when I back off the throttle in a downline on my OS .91 Surpass pumper and hear it pop blue flames out of its open 4.5 inch header pipe. Yesss!! Nothing beats an on-song .46 with a full length pipe and I just love the ultra smooth 1600 rpm idle on my Saito 100. You get the picture....

I used to ride motorcross bikes, and this is a bit like the discussions we used to have over 4 stroke vs 2 stroke.
I still do and we still have those discussions. I convinced the "war office" that I needed both! Two-strokes are gradually being dropped from the manufacturers' line-ups - sad to see.
