As Chad alluded to though significantly different, the G26 and G38 provide almost identical thrust numbers. The G26 is lighter and makes it's power turning a smaller prop at a much higher rpm, while the heavier G38 has the ability to swing a larger pitch prop.

At 'a really good price', getting the G38 makes sense as later on if you so desire, converting it to EI will lighten it (newer alum. hub model) by at least 1.0 lbs. making it suitable for a host of other models.
