RE: BME 115 fixes
I spoke with Tom shortly after the Guard activation. I do something similar myself several times a year but still manage to get the work done.
I don't believe I'm being grumpy at all. Had I invested that sam $1,200.00 into something else it would have been safely flyable out of the box. Had I left the money in a savings account it would have accrued interest. Either way something useful would have been obtained from the capital. Agreed, Keith was the person that marketed a defective design after making assurances that he would not market an engine unless it had been completely flight tested, but the new guys made statements that they would market a fix by May and had already started accepting funds to cover postage of the part. No, I did not send in any money yet, but then again, why should I? They fix hasn't been made yet except for one instance. I'm even willing to pay for the full cost of the part but there's none to be bought.
So I still have the second engine made and sold and I'm still waiting to make use of it. I'm soon to take off again for a few months and if the fix is not available with an e-mail waiting for me relating that when I return the engine will join the ranks of some other engine products. Pretty, but generally useless and sitting in the wood shed.
Truthfully, if you're making a statement that you are going to do something, follow through and get it done. If you don't follow through you lose all credibility.
