<<...not up to the Goldberg standard...>>
This has been a nagging worry in the back of my mind. While they have improved by leaps and bounds since I last had one in the 80s, Lanier ARFs are still nowhere close to same league as what these Goldbergs are; IOW the best.
I say that after assembling nearly two dozen ARFs from different manufacturers in the past sixteen years, and looking at many more. The two Goldberg ARFs I saw were simply of the highest quality overall; World Models offerings are close, but the cheap-jack Pacific Rim hardware is a liability there. The only other company that, IMO, equals those Goldbergs is SIG ARFs. I have the LT-40 and Somethin' Extra, both of which are excellent. And, more importantly, I used almost everything in the box. Usually, the first thing I do with an ARF is gather up all the hardware, pushrods, etc., and toss it.
I agree, Steve; this could be a problem. We won't really know until someone like yourself who has seen the original can look at the new offering.
I'll be waiting for THAT report with bated breath...<G>
