RE: XRAY 808 Backordered Until Late June
I know it's difficult to judge initial product releases. We all know that demand for a product is almost always higher when it first comes out. Then it becomes a question of "Is it cost effective to ramp up our production in order to meet that demand when it will only dwindle afterward?" In most cases, it's not profitable to ramp up. The XRAY 808 has been well received so that contributed as well.
You see the same thing in other industries. Yesterday, Mozilla released Firefox 3 yesterday and encouraged fans to sign a petition (prior to yesterday) to pledge to download it yesterday. Mozilla wanted to break the world record for downloads in a 24-hour period. Their servers went down for a couple hours as soon as it was released. Look at the video game industry. When the PS3 and Xbox 360, you saw the same problem. They offered pre-orders which [link=http://www.teamxray.com]Team XRAY[/link] did for the XRAY 808 as well.
