No I didn't use the foam, I designed a versicle spart that worked great, we took the booms on a table and tried to break the fin off, it was extreamly difficult to do with my spar in place.

The going through the wood was due to a bad hand off of the transmitter... I said do you have it and let go, apparently he didn't!
