Thought the problem with the booms was they twisted and broke. I guess I missed the part about putting in a vertical spar. Is that in this thread or, if not, can you say something about it. Like did you split open the boom to install it??
Thud_Driver, I guess I didn't post any photos of the vertical spar when I did it, so here you go, once you put this in the booms are nearly indestructible, unless of course you put them through the woods!
The spar is shown in the bottom of the first photo, the second photo shows the cut out hatch I made in the bottom of the boom to slide the spar in, the spar run parallel to the LE of the fin, about 3/4" back.
