Default RE: 80" E.III Eindecker Build

Hi Flexnbeef:

I have been following your E-III build, great job. I am about to start one myself and was wondering if any of the fellas had tried a Zenoah G-20Ei in this airframe ? I built the .40 version years back and always wanted to build the .90 version but I was waiting for a small enough gas engine. I have the G-20Ei and think it will be just right.

I am attaching a couple of shots of my Aeromaster so you can see the finish. It is a GP ARF but I don't like Monokote so as soon as I got it I stripped it and did a re-cover with 21st Century Super-Coverite
fabric. Used antique because I had it but sure did hate to cover it with paint. I sprayed it with Behr Latex exterior house paint and after trim and decals sprayed it with water based clear polyeurethane Satin Finish. Gives the fabric a nice soft sheen. I plan on doing my E-III the same way except leaving the antique unpainted and just the clear Satin.

Really would be interested to know if anyone has tried the G-20 in the E-III.

Thanks,

E T
