i have heard that clear coat helps quite a bit. but i have never tried it myself. my last two arfs had cheap-o covering on them and taking some advice i just took good old spray-on car wax and sprayed it on them and buffed it off. no it does not stop the peeling but it slows down the process by preventing the fuel from getting under the seams. it seemed to work on my last two arfs.
