Default Other beginner mistakes

WHile I am at it, here are some other stupid mistakes I have made since I started RC last fall.

1. Getting to the field without something I need.
Resolution: I now have a master list and a list in each box (field kit, tool box, electronics box) and I check it before leaving home. So far so good.

2. Not prefilghting the plane throroughly. Had one near disaster due to loose engine mounts.
Resolution. I have a pre-flight check list that I use before the first flight and again when I get home and am cleaning up and putting away.

3. Moving up to the next level of plane too fast. Done this twice. I would like to think I have learned my lesson but...
Resolution: Let me know when you find a cure for stupidity.

4. Alowing local "experts" to help tune the engine or radio.
Resolution: Turn on your BS detector. Learn when to say "No thanks, I think I can do it myself" when the wrong person offers to help.

5. Leaving the transmitter or receiver turned on during a break. Its no fun to have to go home because you left the transmitter or airplane on and drained the batteries.

I will save building errors for later.
