You will find that engine break in opinions are like *****holes, everyone has one.

Just follow the manufacturers instructions and you will be fine.
If the engine is very tight to start with and wont turn over, I suggest you heat it up with a hair dryer, it should roll right over then.
Suggestions like cranking it over with a drill and forcing the flywheel with pliers are from people who have no clue what they are doing.
You will ruin your engine by forcing it over.
