RE: Turboprop in IMAC
Dear Silent-AV8R,
I would have to agree with everyone else on the language and actual verbage used in the rules. It says the recip engines shall be allowed, it does not say only shall be allowed and it does not say turbines are not allowed. I know that is spliting hairs, but if a rule is what it is written, no matter what the intent. Turbines have a strong case in being allowed to fly based solely on that rule. If the rules committe only wanted piston engines for internal combustion, then they should say piston powered only, that elliminates rotary and turbine without question, turbines are continuos combustion and rotary engines have lobes not pistons, all the engines have combustion chambers. My ten cents worth, (use to be 2 cents, inflation and all, you know)
By the way, just saw the IMAC event in Hamilton Ohio, You guys ROCK!!!!! Great Pilots, Great planes, absolutely inspiring flying folks, just beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
