If you were burning out plugs before that is usually from running lean. You might want to richen your idle up to 1 turn to 1.25 turns as the manual suggests as a starting point and then you can always lean it. When the engine warms up it will tolerate a slighly rich mixture better then when it is cold.
If the engine is getting HOT it will not needle properly and you will wind up getting frustrated. Just concentrate on getting the idle and hover set and set them a wee bit rich. then once you get them stable move on the high speed needle.
Also, the bubbles in the short hose to the throttle body from the regulator would only concern me if the tank was not holding pressure.
