I have the spare motors here now! ;-) Thanks for the intel on the servos. I have replaced them all once since I got the bird at Christmas; so they're maybe 4 months old now.
Best,
Scott

Hi Crash!
My CP+ is stock except I've added Bell Hiller (so it's basically same as a CP Pro I think) and I fly CF syms and the gyro. Thanks for the clear, concise analysis of the problem. I've got about 30 days on this set of stock motors, so since I'm flying two batteries/day about 6 days/week it's probably time to change them huh? Since the problem seems to be getting gradually worse, your explanation makes perfect sense.
Before I change motors I do think I'll try shorter flights and/or come down to hover a couple times while the battery is still plenty full just to see what happens. 8 minutes of FFF just zipping around is plenty anyway.
Oh BTW, I'm letting it cool for 5 minutes between flights. Is that enough time?
Thanks again for the great support!!

Hi Jay,
Things are going well, thanks for asking! And thanks for the referral on the CP parts from autoart4u. All contributions gratefully accepted. Nice air for the last two weeks every morning before work. Out at 6:00am to the park for 2 batteries worth of nice FF.
One concern to report that hopefully the BOBs will address. When flying, I set a timer for 10 minutes and that seems about right to give me enough power in reserve to get back on the ground. However, the last week or so I occasionally have a situation. When transitioning from my 10 minutes of FF to hover in preparation to land, I have a very difficult time controlling yaw. It's like the gyro doesn't want to give me control of the tail to point the nose where I want during landing. Now, during the 10 minutes of FF I have fine control of the tail if/when I need it and the gyro also does a great job of holding the nose where it's pointed. Also, at the start of the flight, just after lift off, I seem to have fine yaw control. The gyro is an Align RCE-500X. Any ideas? Is this the wrong gyro for my Blade CP+?
Thanks!
Scott

Dave, I don't know if you noticed the placement of all of my parts.... Yeah I'm a bit of a copy cat
Scott, hows the flying going?
God Bless!
Jay
Here's a pic of my tail saver mod, " Tip of the day" from Dave and well reproduced by Rick. I had at least 4 tail "rubs" making routine landings and this mod works perfectly, no tail touches sense. Thanks Dave[8D]
Scott, as your battery depleats, you loose head speed, and the tail motor also gets weaker. You have two choices at this point...shorten your flying time to 8 minuets or run a bigger battery. It's also possible your tail motor is going bad too...they die a SLOW death, but you do notice the loss of performance, even if it's slight. Again also, if your main motor is starting to go bad, it'll rob the tail motor of power causing problems with tail control as the motor gets warmer form use. Since I don't know what batteries or motors you're running.....I can only guess. It could be any of the above....tail motor, main motor, battery, but NOT the gyro.
Scott...get some new motors lined up, you're gonna need them. Until they get here...just cut your flying time to 5-7 minuets, but the problem will worsen anyway. A bad servo motor will also cause these symtoms...food for thought. I'd say change the motors, if the problem still exists....a servo is poking you.
