P70 Flame Thrower
I have a P70 with Kerostart that just came back from JetCat.
It went to jet cat for a software "upgrade" and to check out an intermittent RPM sensor.
I sent in the ECU the P70 the kero start plug (latest version) and the Fuel pump.
$500+ later I got it all back.
Now it is a major flame thrower.
Every start throws flames 4-6 FEET back. (good thing we are very wet around here so there is no fire hazard)
After much testing and checking I have determined that the fuel valve is being commanded open at all times that the ecu has power.
So the fuel is flowing into the turbine jets even before the kerostart can light.
I tried a new spare valve and that did not help.
I have turned the UACCEL1 all the way down to .100 (as low as it goes).
I have been able to get better starts (12-18 inches of flames) by unplugging the fuel valve, and not plugging it back in till the GSU calls for main fuel.
Once started the turbine runs normally.
Are there some other settings that I can adjust to help this or is the ECU toast?
I will be calling JetCat first thing Monday when they open.
A local fun fly was counting on my jet for the noon demo this weekend so I need to get this figured out quick.
