That's so freaking cool Vic! I REALLY want a scaler!
Dave, yep that's the balancer I have. It assembles using to rods to connect both sides and those rods slide into the plastic holes or pockets. I just drilled the same size hole through one of the sides making it adjustable for any length bar or screw to fit in between the magnets. I can post pics if anyone wants. It work very well as long as your blades are inline and the screws or bars that you use are a perfect fit in the mounting holes of the blades.
God Bless!
Scalers have a "coolness factor" for sure. The not so cool part is maintenance[:@]. ANytime an adjust has to be made....it has to be dis-assembled...including the tail rotor so you can remove the frame from the fuse. This week alone, I've had it apart and back together about 20 times fixing stuff. Changed a main drive gear, fixed the fuselage mounting system, motor pinion, removed a bad servo, all kinds of weird stuff. I finally got it all fixed, I flew the heck out of it last night, tonight, too much wind, so I worked on making up 1:25 scale decals with the computer. I'm closing in on having a 98% accurate depiction of a real OH58A. It flies as good as it looks too....I can't complain about the MX-400/T-rex heli. I've got a LOT of T-Rex stuff on there to replace the junk that come with the bird......cheers everone.
