Intairco wheels
Recently I decided the main wheels on my Lightning were to large. I purchased a new set of 3.5" Intairco wheels. This was going to save 10 ounces, drop the tail of the plane slightly to increase the take-of angle, and just improve the general looks of the plane. The plane had a few flights on it and I did not like the way it took off. I do have the same tires on my Flash but they are 3.25", and have photos of at least three planes missing tires on either landing or take-off. So in that case I glued the tires on and have not had an issue except for the wear factor. {soft tires} So back to the Lightning, I glued the tires the same as the Flash and proceded to fly. On the first flight at MAB, on the take off run there go's one tire passing up my plane. {I did find out the 3.5" wheel has a void the 3.25 does not have making the glueing less effective}I have since called the supplier disguessed, and returned the wheels. Today I received a new set, identical to the first set sitting in the bushes at MAB. I know Intairco has been changing the tire compound, thinking I would receive the harder tire{ one friend claims to have 200+ flights on them} I accepted the offer for replacment. Now here I sit at my begining, three months latter!!! I can not be the only one with this problem.
