How important is it to have throttle expo on a gas engine for hovering? I'm using a DX7 Spektrum radio which doesn't have throttle expo in the airplane mode, and I find the throttle just too touchy to hold the plane. The helicopter mode has expo capability, but there are only 3 programmable mixes in that mode.
