Default RE: How useful and informative are the threads in this forum?

stick; I just think that they are missing the boat on this one. It's probably not the only one they are missing out on as well.

Bill, AMA 4720
Definitely agreed, Stick. Another big event close to here is BB Weber's Big Bird B-17 event (any and all scale big birds) each Sep. brings in many fliers and many many spectators some 4-5000, varying each year. BB is great at obtaining news media pre-advertising and the club makes big bucks to maintain their facility each year.
AMA does not provide any delegates.
BB has for many years been a big credit to model aviation since he was a kid. I tried for several years to get him into AMA's Hall of Fame, however such was not yet to be. Some sanction problems (IIRC) some years ago left a bad taste at AMA because BB did as he wanted and to heck with AMA's sanction. BB was/is another builder and preserver of flying fields, without public assistance.

EDITED to add: Looks like this is way off topic now, but just maybe these last few posts could be said to be examples of how this forum can be "...informative..." of both the current AMA practices as well as some historical background.
