I really doubt vacuum hose will melt, this is the stuff thats on my 1:1 vehicle's turbo!

yes, but those hoses dont get as hot as you may think. sure, they are near the turbo/engine, but thats not the same as having exhaust gasses flowing through them. they will last 10-15 minutes. you need some metal.
