Jeff, were the heck are you getting those smilies, there cracking me up! I hear ya on the scary part of heli flying. A friend of mine lost his gyro on a 60 size glow about 10 feet from me. Me and another guy kinda turned our backs a bit and covered our heads. The heli exploded sending the carbon blades 50-75 yards from the crash. We only found one and couldn't find the other. I did the laundry that night, if you know what I mean[X(]

Tim, my first attempts were the same. I had a huge piece of stryo foam that I tried flying off of. It didn't work. Like Ron said, your better off on concrete on asphalt where you can get the heli light on it's skids and let it scoot around a bit. Believe it or not it will give you the feel of the heli even on the ground. I did much better when I took my blade to an open parking lot. Also remember to watch the head/blades when flying. It will tilt before the body of the moves.
