I did mine almost exactly the way MinnFlyer explained. And as he says, it does "work like magic". Was my first build, and it came out fine. The only thing I did different was that I used my palm sander with 150 grit to rough sand the tips. Now, I did try carving with a knife, and then hand sanding, but that seemed to take a lot of elbow grease. I DO NOT recommend that you use a palm sander unless you are used to it, because it can get away from you real quick, and then you will be filling in! And I used masking tape to protect the sheeting, again being careful.
