I am trying to finish mine up that is Fiberglassed and will be painted. I'm an IMAC guy also. I put a 3W55i in mine. If I had to do it over though, as much as I love 3W engines, I'd put a DL-50 in it. Costs less and I wouldn't have had to cut the firewall hole for the carb. No cutting of the cowl was necessary though. My friend is building one at the same time with the DA-50.

Just remember that most "Warbirds" are desigened around a large motor upfront. Putting lite motors with lots of power upfront and servos in the tail mean you will most likely add lead to the plane in the nose so it isn't tailheavy.

My plane is built per the plans except the gear area was re-enforced with CF cloth.

Try the P-47 thread already started here for info on mine and a few other ones that are closer to scale.
