Ron,
You will not have to do any Mods with the production version of Stu's fan. I had the early fan with the carbon housing.
I was going to split the duct but then there would have been a step at the face of the fan that we did not want.
The wood mounts in the fuse are drilled by the builder so there is nothing to modify there either.
The only thing you may have to do is roll a new tail pipe as the production housing is shorter It is a very easy install!

I don't see the problem with just spliting the duct then put a little silicon in the gap.. but I guess robert didn't like the way it fit
maybe he will chime in on that.. I would love to run the stu max but still tough to get right now
