Default RE: Using the Multiplex charger LN-5014

Not sure why you want to do a fast cycle. The best way to cycle a battery is to discharge at C/5 (400mah or .4A) and to charge at C/10 (230 mah or .3A). This will give you the most accuracy if you want to determine how much charge the battery is actually holding. If you discharge faster or slower your charger will tell you it's replacing more or less charge, leading to an inaccurate conclusion.
I guess it's because I really don't know what I'm doing. I thought a fast charge was just as good but sounds like I was wrong. Any suggestions on how-what formula to use for rate/settings- I should charge NiMH and discharge/charge NiCds would be appreciated. Since the charger only does one pack at a time I guess I'm willing to give up a little accuracy for speed so a happy compromise would be best! In addition to the four packs I mentioned I also have a gel cell [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL373&P=V]battery[/link] to charge. Thanks.
