When you say add castor oil, do you mean the same castor found at the local drug store? That is the only place that I find castor.
Klotz Benol racing castor can often be found at motorcycle and go kart shops. If you do not have a local source, Omni and Tower sell it for $7.39 per pint.

You can also buy castor from www.sigmfg.com
There has been plenty of arguing about using drug store castor. As long as it's pure, no sugar or other additives, it seems like it should be ok.
