I always say that there are no boring planes (including trainers), just boring pilots. I have a ton of fun taking my trainer back out and flying it from time to time, and I learned 12 years ago. But in this case you need to ask yourself what you think about getting it. The mere fact that you are considering it shows that you think you will benefit from it. I'm not trying to be harsh by saying this (just trying to help), but many times when somebody learns on a plane other than a trainer (in your case the Pulse) there are a lot of aspects of flying that they miss out on learning. Flying a plane like a trainer makes the pilot learn how to actually fly the plane. And when doing acrobatics with a trainer it makes the pilot better because it's his skill as a pilot doing aerobatics and not anything from the plane. And then when they move to other planes they will find that the aerobatics are easier to do, and they do them better. In fact, many times when I am trying to learn something new I will pull out my trainer and work on it first before attempting it in a more advanced plane. Also, in my opinion too many pilots advance too quickly these days. They get in a big hurry to move to that 2nd or 3rd plane because they think that they are beyond the trainer, or they think that it's not cool to be flying a "clunky" trainer. But when they move on that quickly they wind up cheating themselves because they don't pick up on skills that will help them on more advanced planes.
Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now.!!!

Honestly, it's up to you if you want to get a trainer. But if you are going to get one I would go with the LT-40. And for $150 for the plane and a 46 engine it's a heck of a bargain. Shoot, you could pull the engine off of it and resell the trainer and wind up making money!!!
