Yeah, don't feel bad. It wasn't your fault. I am an instructor, and frankly, if a student is new and just learning to fly around and the airplane crashes it's my fault - period. I've never had this happen, but that's how I feel about it. Teaching a student to takeoff and land is another animal altogether.

I'm glad you found some nice people to help you. It seems that this hobby has a disproportionately large number of nice people in it.
