If you can get a copy of the Oct. 2000 RCM you can see what Clarence Lee thought of the engine. His statement was that the Webra was the only 1.20 that topped his performance numbers for the GMS. My experience is that it is very close to my Webra but has none of the mid-range problems which finally forced me to go to a pump on my Webra. I am using the same Bisson pitts muffler on either engine. The plane I am holding in the picture is a Midwest G202 which I crashed when I pulled up from a low pass down the runway and the Webra quit when I gassed it to go around. It stalled and went straight in. Anyway I gave it to my flying buddy who rebuilt it better than new and installed a GMS. I can't tell the difference in the way it flies with either engine.
By the way, how are things down there in Bakersfield, I grew up in the 40's in Coalinga and I sure miss those wide open spaces. Maybe not so wide open any more.
