Back when I was flying my trainer my instructor had me on the buddy box. One time we took off no problem with the brand new 8UAF (10 years ago). I took over and was flying for maybe 10 minutes and all of a sudden it became uncontrollable. I screamed for help as I was trying to get back closer to the runway. He took over and noticed something was not right and he immediately killed the engine and sat it down in the high grass. As he was gliding it in I looked over and notice the antenna was completely down. He never pulled it out. Anyway, the landing pulled off the nose gear and that was the extent of the damage. These things happen. We both laughed about it and moved on. I still have that trainer and the 8UAF. I was a couple of mistakes high too so Futaba earned my loyalty on that one.
