Default RE: Titan 550 12T vs 23T in Rustler

Assuming you are running on 6 or 7 cells the 12T will be faster. If you run on 12 cells the 23T will be faster. I ditched the last titan I had for an S-600 from Great planes. Finally had a chance to run it last week. After running at least ten of my 8 cell batteries through it I have to say I’m seriously impressed. The motor is 550 sized so it fits right where the stock titan fits but has a ton more torque. I’m currently running a 54/16 (32 pitch, not the stock 48 pitch) The truck has a stock XL5 ESC and 5.5 tall Imex tires. Taking temp reading on a 90+ degree day the motor, ESC and batteries where all reasonably cool. The highest motor temp was 180, battery was 140 and the ESC was around 100. I actually think If I used a larger pinion the motor temps might come down a bit. Right now I’m spinning the motor pretty high. On a side note the truck is so much faster than the stock pede there is no comparison.
